DEVELOPMENT

DSC_2131lowres.jpg

The WeissKlang V17 combines reliable characteristics with an uncompromising sound and is equipped with the newest technology.
It’s very versatile and perfect for all demanding applications in professional recording environments.

The V17 utilizes a discrete semiconductor circuit and offers superior acoustic qualities, an excellent resolution and the highest sound pressure level transmission.

With an equivalent noise level (self-noise) of <8 dB-A it is also very low-noise and offers great dynamic range with high sensitivity.

TransHarmonic™ combines  the sonic advantages of tubes with the outstanding technical properties of transistors (self-noise, dynamics, resolution).

The newly developed and patented TransHarmonic™ technology creates very subtle and harmonic overtones that contribute to the V17’s outstanding resolution and musical sound – without the use of tubes.

The overall tone gets an unmatched three-dimensionality with full low and mid-range frequencies as well as smooth high frequencies.

The new WMK-17 capsule is gold-sputtered, least sensitive
at the rear (cardioid) and edge-terminated. With the very broad frequency range from 20 Hz – 20.000 Hz, the V17 allows for an excellent recording of extremely low (and high) frequencies.

The frequency response is flat with a subtle and balanced high-frequency lift from 2 kHz. Therefore the capsule captures even the finest details and works with an excellent impulse response.

In order to get the best possible acoustic properties, the circuit and the capsule are matched.

The low-resonance body of V17 is made of copper and hardened aluminium. The slightly roughened and powder-coated surface is very resistant and durable.

The two-layer steel mesh grille protects the capsule from plosive sounds, while the shape of the grille ensures even scattering of the incoming sound, thus avoiding so-called “standing waves”.

The included MA-1 shock mount isolates the microphone from physical vibration, floor and stand noise. The low frequency absorption goes up to 18 dB.

Equipped with elastic and replaceable rubber bands and a soft foam layer, the MA-1 shock mount ensures quick and secure attachment with adjustable tilt angle.

V17Reviews
amazona2.png
"The WeissKlang V17 comes from a company philosophy that is very modern. The very reasonably priced large-diaphragm condenser microphone is almost flawless in every aspect.
The WeissKlang V17 can easily compete with microphones, that cost twice as much and even more."
Conclusion: Very good ☆☆☆
